Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How far in advance of my event should I book a Face Painter or Balloon Artist?
A: Generally, it is a good idea to book 2 – 6 weeks in advance. However, it is very important to the success of your event to know that there are several times of the year that large numbers of individuals, churches, and businesses are also scheduling their events. At those times, you should allow 2 – 4 months in advance.
Q: What are those particularly busy or popular times of the year?
A: The Saturday before Easter (lots of Easter Egg Hunts going on), July 4th, the entire month of October (Halloween and Halloween alternative events), the weekends in November, and the first two weekends of December (Christmas parties and events).
Q: Can I call last minute, let’s say only a couple of days before my event, to book a Face Painter or Balloon Artist?
A: Yes. Just call or text 214-282-1331 and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
Q: How can I increase my chances of having Loonie & Friends available for my event?
A: As you plan your event, be mindful that there are only four Saturdays in a month, and almost everyone wants to have their child’s birthday party or event on a Saturday, usually between the hours of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For this reason you will want to be sure to follow the booking time guidelines above, especially if your child’s birthday or your event is during one of the more popular times of the year.
Also, consider having your event on a Sunday, a great day for a party. After school during the week, or having us come to your child’s classroom to help celebrate their special day is also a good way to make it easy for us and your little guests to attend. Scheduling your party for 3 p.m. or later on a Saturday is also good.
Q: Does Loonie & Friends ever donate their services?
A: Yes, to chosen causes we already support. As a military veteran who served overseas, and has a child serving overseas, one of the organizations I am committed to supporting through my work is one that is near and dear to my heart, Snowball Express. Their mission is to provide hope and new happy memories to the children of military fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11. With the help of dedicated volunteers like Loonie and Friends and many others, they bring children together from all over the world to provide fun activities, like face painting, balloon art, sporting events, dances, amusement parks and more. The surviving spouses and children who attend their annual event go back home knowing they are not alone, and that we honor the sacrifice their mate and parent made while serving our country. Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: PayPal, credit cards, cash on the day of the event, or a company check if the client is a business, school, church, or other organization. No personal checks, please.
Please note: An additional 3.5% of the total invoice will be added for PayPal or credit card payments to cover the processing fee.
Q: Is a deposit required?
A: Yes, a 25% non-refundable deposit for individual parties, corporate events, and other types of events may be required to confirm and hold your date.
Q: What if we have to cancel our event?
A: If the client’s event is cancelled 15 days or more prior to the event date, there is no additional charge. If the event is cancelled 14 days or less prior to your event, the entire amount will be due and payable immediately because we would not have sufficient time to book another event.
Q: What happens in the event of inclement weather?
A: The client must provide a suitable indoor location as an alternative to a planned outdoor event in the event of inclement weather. Cancellation because of rain, snow, or extreme high or low temperatures is not cause for cancellation and will not void the contract. However, icy, unsafe road conditions may void the contract. If the client postpones their event to a mutually agreed upon date within 30 days of the original event date, the deposit will be transferred to the new date. We will do our best to work with your re-scheduled date.
